Living in Pereybere

Pereybere beach is one of the most loved by families: a sheltered cove, calm transparent water, snorkelling a few strokes from the shore. Around it, the village covers daily life: a minimarket, restaurants, preschools, and Grand Baie five minutes away for everything else.

The schools favoured by French-speaking and international families, École du Nord (AEFE-accredited) and Northfields International School, are on the Mapou side, about fifteen minutes away, with school buses from the village.

The Pereybere property market

Pereybere has built up considerably in recent years: the market is dense with recent residences, R+2 apartments and penthouses from around €150,000, as well as contemporary villas in the residential streets set back from the coast.

It is one of the most active rental markets on the island, year-round and seasonal alike: the beach and the proximity of Grand Baie mean well-located properties never stay available for long. For an investor, this is an area that rents itself.

Who is it for?

Families who want the beach on foot and the schools fifteen minutes away, buyers of a first pied-à-terre in Mauritius, and buy-to-let investors looking for a liquid market. If you prefer more space and calm, also look at Cap Malheureux or Calodyne, a few minutes further north.
